Leading UK property group appoints Lisney as Joint Agent for Kilroot Business Park

Leading commercial property agency Lisney has been appointed alongside McConnell Chartered Surveyors as Joint Letting Agent of Kilroot Business Park, following a multimillion pound purchase of the site by UK property group Canmoor.

The 60-acre site was recently purchased from Highcross by Canmoor, marking the group’s first venture into the Northern Ireland market.

Located in Carrickfergus and benefitting from the new A2 road improvements, allowing a journey time of only 20 from Belfast, the park has industrial and office units ranging from 100 to 90,000 sq. ft. available to let, as well as new design and build opportunities from 15,000 sq. ft. to 130,000 sq. ft.

Following a competitive tender process, Canmoor, which has developed a strong reputation in the development of industrial parks across the UK, appointed Lisney as joint agent with McConnells, to assist in attracting new tenants to the existing units and also on a design and build basis.

Andrew Gawley, Associate Director at Belfast-based Lisney, who led the tender process, commented:
“Lisney has a strong pedigree in successfully letting and selling business parks and will deliver a first-class service to current tenants requiring additional space as well as providing expert guidance in sourcing new tenants and purchasers for the site.

“We are the ‘go-to’ agent for high-profile commercial property projects such as this and we are looking forward to working with Canmoor on this development.

“It is fantastic to see an established leader in the industrial park sector such as Canmoor investing heavily in Northern Ireland.

“With limited space in Belfast-based industrial parks such as Dargan, Duncrue and Mallusk, and the short commute time to Belfast, the business units at Kilroot are an attractive offer, while the opportunity for the design and build of new units adds further to the site’s potential.”

Tom White, Director at Canmoor, said:
“We appointed Lisney because the team has the required experience and expertise in the Northern Irish commercial property sector to deliver on the brief for this project.

“The agency understands our requirements and we are delighted to be working with them on our first venture in Northern Ireland. There is great potential in the site and, together with Lisney, working alongside McConnells, we will be able to fully realise that potential.”
