Location

Geashill is a village in Co. Offaly and is situated between the towns of Tullamore and Portarlington on the R420 Regional Road. Geashill is a heritage village with a Church, shop, petrol station, national school, 2 public houses and a well-known GAA Club.  Geashill is an old Anglo Norman settlement built in the 12th Century by the first Baron of Offaly, Gerald Fitzmaurice Fitzgerald, and comprised a timber castle with a church and dwellings. In the 15th century a stone tower house was built instead but today only the west wall of the castle remains. In the 16th Century the Digby family developed Geashill as a planned estate village. Extensive improvements were carried out in the 1860s and many of the current buildings around the triangular green date from this time.

The land for sale briefly comprises 31.60 Hectares (78 acres) of quality grasslands located in the townland of Ballyduff South, approximately 3km north of Geashill and 1km south of Ballinagar. There are no residential dwellings on the site and we understand it has been in use for agricultural purposes.
