James is a director within Lisney and head of the office agency department.
As an expert in office property James deals with lease disposals, lease acquisitions, rent review work and other landlord and tenant issues. He also advises clients on site assembly, structuring of joint venture development agreements and building design and specification.
James joined Lisney in 1995 and in 2003 was appointed to the board of directors before becoming managing director in January 2012. He is very well known in the industry, having written for the Irish Times and the Sunday Business Post and has been a speaker annual conferences for the Society of Chartered Surveyors Ireland, the Irish Property and Facilities Managers and the Irish Planning Institute.
Naturally, James has represented numerous high profile clients including Blackstone, State Street Global Advisors, O’Flynn Construction, Davy Hickey Properties, The RDS, Friends First, Irish Life, IPUT and London & Regional Properties. He has also represented prominent international and occupational clients such as Alcatel Lucent, Belfius Bank, Sage, De Lage Landen, Mediolanum, Unilever, Mercer, The Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland, AIG, Allianz Worldwide Care, BDO Simpson Xavier, The Central Bank of Ireland, Citi, BskyB, Salesforce and Brown Brothers Harriman.
James holds a BSc in Estate Management from Oxford Brookes University and a diploma in Auctioneering, Estate Agency and Valuations from Dublin Institute of Technology. He has acted as chairperson on various professional competency assessment panels for the Society of Chartered Surveyors Ireland as well as representing the society when accrediting third level institutions. James is a member of the Society of Chartered Surveyors Ireland and the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and a board member of Dublin City Business Improvements District.
